Healing Ourselves, Healing Our World:

Lessons for Life from Yoga and Ayurveda

July 2020 dates planned: 11:00-5:00, St. Bartholomew’s Episcopal Church, 880 MacGregor Ave., Estes Park, CO

A healthy and fulfilled life, as understood through the different classical traditions of Yoga, requires physical, mental, spiritual  well-being. Yet our life habits affect not only ourselves, but also those around us, and ultimately, our planet.

A balanced life is one which addresses all of these dimensions of our existence.

Specific practices of the different branches of traditional Yoga, as well as the dietary and lifestyle health practices of Ayurvedic medicine, are designed to address these different aspects of our being, to help us achieve physical, mental, emotional, spiritual, and social health, and create a more peaceful and harmonious world.

Specifically, we will focus on:

Yama, Niyama, Vedic Duties, and Karma Yoga:
The Ethical Guidelines of Yoga and what they can mean for Ourselves and Our World

Personalised Medicine:
Principles of Ayurvedic wellness practices emphasising healthy diet and lifestyle
.

Beginning Hatha Yoga Breath Practices to calm the mind and promote health, according to season, health condition, and individual constitution.

Dealing with Colds and Flus Naturally

Sat Oct 19th  3:30-5:00pm   The Old Gallery,  Allenspark

Even when we are fortunate enough to recover quickly from a cold or the flu, most of us have still experienced several days of feeling crummy,  having low energy and productivity , and having to cancel plans.  When we don’t recover quickly, the misery is extended and the situation can become more medically concerning.

In this workshop, we will investigate a series of tools to help us enhance our natural resistance, diminish the severity of symptoms, and enhance recovery time.

Herbs and other natural substances which enhance immunity

Common transmission patterns of colds and flus

Immediate steps to take at the very beginning of a cold to avert the infection

Steps to take if the above fails

Natural remedies for secondary bacterial sinus infections from colds

Natural remedies to speed recovery time and diminish severity of symptoms if you get the flu

$10 or donation
